She is beauty and poised personified, inner and outer beauty, both. A sense of calm pervades the atmosphere as she walks into the room. She exudes positivity & warmth, her smile assuring and offering the much needed ray of hope.

Owner of “Mala’s and Sara” boutique, Mala has already created high waves in the field of fashion as renowned designer.

After marriage at a young age, being a mother to 3 children and a divorce later, destiny steered her in arena of fame and limelight. This time it was Gladrags Mrs India contest 2006. She was announced in media as  “The oldest contestant  is Chembur based fashion designer ,44 years, mother of three and grandmother of one”. To add fuel to fire was another remark that stirred every one’s curiosity ‘”And you thought grannies were meant to make pickles and tell stories?”

Nothing stopped her, she was prepared for what was coming. She was more than ready in fact, to uphold her ideals and work for her dreams. For someone who had always been health conscious, exercise was part of her life. She never considered modelling as her career option. She knew her makeup skills would give her competitive edge .She wanted to represent face of woman above 40 and prove the fact that “It’s never too late to perceive your dream, age is just a number!”

Mala succeeded in reaching the Top 10 which was quite a feat in itself. She decided to skip bikini round but won title of “Mrs Courageous Tag”

Mala has always been positive soul born to create value to society and not just restrict herself in fashion and limelight. Meditation and yoga has been true saviour says Mala. She is working to bring awareness in woman that how fitness can affect mind, body and soul.

They are motivated to eat healthy, elderly woman are also taught to make quick healthy salads. How to keep faith and belief in their selves cause health is key to happiness, if you are not healthy everything falls apart. Mala says her health hit turbulence many times when she was young and no one to guide her right.
